Jacob’s Mansion is a set of Bible study principles. It is a conceptual framework that helps you to engage with the thoughts that God has placed in the Bible for humanity’s salvation, which is saving of humanity from eternal death (annihilation) because of their evildoings.
For Christ, who is God, says, “Sanctify them [make humanity holy] through thy [God’s] truth: thy word [the Bible] is truth.” John 17:17.
Thus, God desires to sanctify you, that is, “make you perfect [in love], stablish [establish], [morally] strengthen, settle you” (1 Peter 5:10) into God’s truth. When this is accomplished in you, you will have “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16) which qualifies you to receive eternal life from God.
Bible study then is not to be pursued for its own sake but for the purpose of becoming “wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15.
For “all scripture [the entire Bible] is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man [or woman] of God may be perfect, throughly [thoroughly] furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) and, hence, become “sanctified by faith” (Acts 26:18) in Christ.
In other words, “the word of his [God’s] grace [His unmerited favour]…is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32), who are “chosen…to [for] salvation [the saving from eternal death (annihilation) by God to receive eternal life from Him] through sanctification of the [Holy] Spirit and belief of the truth [from God].” 2 Thessalonians 2:13.
